You will learn how to prepare four different varieties of real Kimchi, including Korean cabbage (Baechu Kimchi), radish (Kkakdugi), and cucumber. You will learn how to create both long-term Kimchi (Gimjang Kimchi) and fresh Kimchi (Geotjeori). After cooking, you will eat Kimchi with boiling pig (or fried tofu for vegetarians), much like Koreans do with their families on a ‘Kimchi making day’. Jomin, a licensed Korean cook, leads the class in English at her cooking school near the local Mangwon market in the Hongdae district. You will also get the opportunity to see the local market before class. This is not a demonstration lesson, but rather a hands-on class where you will create items from scratch. So you can make healthy Kimchi at home for your family and friends. During class, you make friends who share your interests in cuisine, culture, and travel. Notes: * reach at exit 2 of Mangwon metro station. * Vegetarian and vegan alternatives available. * Class can be postponed or canceled if it does not reach the minimum number of attendees – 4.

Testimonials
I enjoyed exploring the market and learning about its history. We cooked a lot of kimchi, and while packing and taking the remainder seemed like a good idea, it didn’t make sense for travel.

We quickly got acquainted with the others in our group. Our teacher was excellent: well-organized, easy to comprehend, fast to explain everything clearly and concisely, encouraging, and knowledgeable. We had a lot of fun. We laughed and spoke while making four different varieties of kimchi. I suggest this class to individuals who appreciate Korean cuisine, cooking, and socializing.
