Tour itinerary

Day 1: Gondar - Debark - Sankaber

Your hiking journey in Ethiopia begins with a two-hour drive to Debark, the gateway of Simien Mountains National Park. Before entering the park, be sure you have all of the necessary paperwork and permissions. Greet your personal cook and the scouts who will help you throughout the journey, and pick up your camping equipment.
Proceed on a one-hour bumpy road drive to Sankaber for your first two to three-hour hike to aid in the acclimatization process. The first of many breathtaking vistas of the majestic mountain range will wow you. Build a camp in the Sankaber camp for the night.

Day 2: Sankaber - Geech

Before beginning the walk, pack your belongings and meet your mule guys at Sankaber. Walk to Geech in 5–6 hours (11,800 feet, 8 miles), observing gelada baboons, klipspringer, and bush deer along the route. Stroll along the escarpment before descending for spectacular views. Eagles, vultures, and ravens are frequently spotted here.
On day two, you’ll also see Genbar Falls, a 1,640-foot vertical drop of water. Climb Mount Kedadit (12,335 feet) in the evening for a spectacular sunset. Spend the night at the Geech campground.

Day 3: Geech - Chenek - Gondar

Return to Chenek from the Geech campground. Following lunch, return to Gondar and be dropped off at your hotel or another location.
