Tour itinerary

Hagia Sophia Mosque:

For early morning arrivals, Hagia Sofia may be visited from the interior for a cost of 60 TL (10 USD). This is one of Istanbul’s most popular attractions. Built as a church in the sixth century AD, it was transformed to a mosque in 1453 and then to a museum in 1935. It is the only edifice in the world that combines Islam and Christianity in one structure.

Basilica Cistern: The most stunning water reservoir you’ve ever seen. Built-in the sixth century AD to keep the city’s drinking water safe. It was fed by rain and aqueducts. 336 columns, each 8 meters tall, with a capacity of 100,000 tons of water. The famous Medusa heads may be found at the cistern’s conclusion, in the far blind corner.

Blue Mosque: Istanbul’s largest and most frequented mosque. This mosque was erected in 1609 by Ottoman Sultan Ahmet and currently serves as a place of worship five times a day. It is open to guests once the prayer is over.

Hippodrome:

This is the hippodrome, where chariot racing was conducted from the fourth through the fifteenth centuries. It was demolished by the Ottomans, who repurposed the materials to build mosques and palaces. Monuments have survived and may be viewed. Four life-size horse sculptures at St. Mark Basilica are based on this design. The British Museum houses one of the snake column’s heads.

Topkapi Palace: For 400 years, this was the Ottoman residence and legislative house. It has been a museum since 1930. This museum helps visitors comprehend how the Ottomans lived and maintained a vast empire for almost 600 years.

Istanbul Bosphorus Cruise: Locals may travel between Europe and Asia in 20-30 minutes on these ships. It provides the greatest view of Istanbul from the river.

Misir Carsisi (Spice Market): This is where the fragrances of the globe collide. The Spice Bazaar was erected in 1664 as part of the adjacent New Mosque. Turhan Sultan, a lady, created the complex. This market has the greatest spices, Turkish sweets, nuts, herbal teas, dried fruits, and veggies.

Kadikoy Carsisi: This is a non-touristy local market where locals buy their everyday necessities, including greengrocers, butchers, fishmongers, eateries, and more.

Cinili Turkish Bath: If you’re fatigued and in need of massage, it’s time to visit Hamam (Turkish bath). You don’t need to bring anything (towels, shampoo, etc.) because everything is given to you. You will be cleaned, soap massaged, and able to rest in the foyer of historic building while sipping your apple tea.

Testimonials

During our nine-hour stopover in Istanbul, we decided to take a tour and it was definitely worth it! We visited some amazing places like the Sophia Hagia Mosque, the Blue Mosque, and the Cistern Basilica. The sights were absolutely stunning! We also enjoyed a delicious Turkish breakfast and took a ferry ride. This was the best stopover I have ever had! Our tour guide, Salih, was both knowledgeable and friendly. He did an excellent job and I highly recommend him as a tour guide.
