Tour itinerary

Bosphorus Strait: Since ancient times, this stunning strait has been known by two different spellings: Bosporus and Bosphorus. It holds a special place in mythology as it was believed to be crossed by Io, who had taken the form of a cow, while she was being pursued by Jupiter. The Bosporus is similar to the Dardanelles in terms of length, width, and current, and it acts as a narrow channel that separates Europe from Asia. However, it is much more than just a simple waterway. The Bosporus is teeming with life and energy, and it flows past banks that are adorned with castles, towns, and magnificent forest trees. With every mile, the Bosporus presents a fresh and vibrant image of bustling existence.

Dolmabahce Palace (Pass By): Dolmabahce Palace is located on the European side of the Bosphorus and, together with its many extensions, comprises nearly a small town, with gardens reaching for a mile or more along the water’s edge.

Ortakoy (Pass By): Ortaköy Mosque, formally the Büyük Mecidiye Camii in Beşiktaş, Istanbul, Turkey, is located on the waterside of the Ortaköy pier plaza, one of the most popular Bosphorus destinations.

Bosphorus Bridge (Pass By): It was opened on October 29, 1973, on the 50th anniversary of the Turkish Republic, and has the biggest span in Europe and the fourth longest in the world. This suspension bridge spans 1560 meters (1706 yards) and is 33.4 meters (110 feet) wide.

Ciragan Palace Kempinski (Pass By): The remains of the Ciragan Palace, located on the European side of the Bosphorus between Besiktas and Ortaköy, were erected by Sultan Abdülaziz between 1863 and 1867. With its lengthy facade and baroque architectural style, it resembles the Dolmabahce Palace.

Rumeli Fortress (Pass By): RUMELISHISARI FORTRESS – (RUMELIHISARI CASTLE) At the narrowest point of the Bosphorus stands the Rumelihisarr Fortress, built by Sultan Mehmet, the Conqueror on the European shore. The Sultan himself on the 26th day of March 1452 laid the foundation stone of the Fortress with a view to controlling the passage of the ships through the Bosphorus and using it as a base for his attack on the city.

Bebek Park (Pass By): Ottoman nobility chose Bebek’s beautiful location for vacation mansions and palaces in the nineteenth century. It is still a popular residential neighborhood today.

Kanlica Meydani (Pass By): Kanlca is a neighborhood in Istanbul Province, Turkey, on the Asian side of the Bosphorus Strait, in the Beykoz district. Kanlica is well-known for its famous specialty, yogurt with castor sugar, which is available at local restaurants and cafés.

Anadolu Hisari Fort (Pass By): By the Göksu stream, the Anadoluhisari Fortress lies on the opposite bank. This magnificent fortress graces the Asiatic bank of the Bosphorus and was christened “Güzelcehisar” by Sultan Bayazit, the Thunderbolt, in 1395. Mehmet the Conqueror later enlarged it. Today, being the first Turkish property on the Bosphorus, it serves as a symbol of Turkish dominance.

Kucuksu Pavilion (Pass By): KUCUKSU PALACE The summer Palace of Kucuksu, sometimes called the Palace of Göksu, is situated between the villages of Anadoluhisan and Kandilli on the Asiatic shore of the Bosphorus.

Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge (Pass By): The Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, commonly known as the Second Bosphorus Bridge, is a bridge that spans the Bosphorus Strait in Istanbul, Turkey. It was the fifth-longest suspension bridge span in the world when it was finished in 1988; it is now the 24th.

Beylerbeyi Palace (Pass By): PALACE BEYLERBEYI Sultan Abdülaziz erected the palace in 1865 on the Asiatic coast of the Bosphorus, between the towns of Kuzguncuk and Cengelköy. Beylerbeyi Palace appears to float like a white vision in a fairy tale when viewed from the Bosphorus. It is the most lavish royal residence of the nineteenth century, with millions spent on it.

Galata Koprusu (Pass By): The Galata Bridge is a bridge in Istanbul, Turkey that spans the Golden Horn. The bridge has appeared in Turkish literature, drama, poetry, and novels since the late nineteenth century.

Galata Tower (Pass By): The Galata Tower, also known as Christea Turris by the Genoese, is a medieval stone tower in Istanbul, Turkey, situated north of the Golden Horn’s confluence with the Bosphorus.

KIz Kulesi (Pass By):

KIZKULESI (MAIDEN’S TOWER – LEANDER’S TOWER) This tower, located around 180 meters from the coasts of Üsküdar, has two names. Europeans named it Leander’s Tower because they believed it was there that Leander perished while attempting to swim the Bosphorus to join his lover Hero, the priestess of Aphrodite. However, even in the mythology that relates to the Hellespont, Dardanelles, Leander never passed here.

Halic (Pass By): The Golden Horn coastlines, one of the most popular sections of the ancient peninsula, are a must-see on any Istanbul tour. It is long and thin, but it also features a horn-shaped geographical structure. As a result, it’s also known as the Golden Horn. Haliç is also one of the most prominent commerce hubs in old Istanbul.

What an amazing experience to see the city from both Europe and Asia. Watching the sunset over the Bosporus was truly breathtaking. Our tour guide, Serdar, was fantastic and I highly recommend requesting him. He was funny, knowledgeable, and had great recommendations for food and drinks throughout the city. He also took some excellent photos of us. The trip itself was exceptional, with stunning views and a top-notch ship. We were even provided with plenty of snacks.
