Tour itinerary

Historic Areas of Istanbul

The cuisine tour Taste of Two Continents begins in Istanbul’s Old City. We gather there to begin our trip in the center of Eminönü, near the Spice Market.

Misir Carsisi (Spice Market)

Market-Sourced Turkish Breakfast: In the morning, go to a breakfast market and collect an assortment of Turkish breakfast items, such as cheeses, buffalo cream, hazelnut paste, honey, olives, dried beef pastrami, simit, and enjoy it all with traditional Turkish tea and menemen (Turkish scrambled eggs) at a local tea house. While contemplating if this may be your favorite breakfast ever, listen to your guide’s engaging and intriguing anecdotes about culture and daily life in Turkey.

Bosphorus Strait

Cross the Bosphorus via boat to the Asian side to discover the more contemporary and fashionable suburb of Kadköy. Kadköy is home to some of Istanbul’s top local eateries, visited by a new generation of Turks who like dining out while still savoring the flavors of their upbringing.

Kadikoy Carsisi

Your guide will describe the colorful stalls and goods as you nibble, sip, and chew your way around the local Kadköy market. Bring your cameras to capture the vibrant tastes of Turkish food!

Sureyya Opera House

As you walk through the colorful lanes of Kadköy market, you’ll sip freshly brewed Turkish coffee and eat crispy golden baklava baked locally. You’ll enjoy classic street meals like dolma, tantuni, and kokoreç, as well as other local favorites.

Kadikoy Iskelesi

The journey concludes at the Kadköy Ferry Terminal. Your return boat tickets are included. Your guide will assist you in catching the Eminönü boat (return to the Spice Market) or the Karaköy ferry.

Gracepat Safaris, a local firm, organizes the activity properly. We were escorted by two drivers/guides (John and Timothy), to whom I can only express my gratitude. They are extremely timely, professional, and committed to their work, and they have excellent knowledge of the animals and flora of the national parks. very recommended

excellent tour with an excellent guide! We got to eat so many different foods and learn about the city. Leyla, our tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable, had a great sense of humor, and was really courteous to us, even accommodating my gluten allergy. This was the nicest thing we did in Istanbul!
