Tour itinerary
After being picked up from your hotel in Phoenix, you are taken to Deer Valley Airport, or you can make your own way there at your preferred departure time. Climb into the basket for the about 1-hour journey once the certified pilot and skilled team prepare your hot air balloon for flight.
As your balloon softly departs the ground at speeds of 5-6 mph (8-9.6 kph), you’ll feel practically immobile. At heights as high as 5,000 feet (1,524 meters), float with the wind on an airy journey. Peer out over the Phoenix Valley and experience a panoramic panorama over the spectacular saguaros of the Sonoran Desert on your amazing tour.
The morning is exciting, followed by a superb breakfast. After landing, salute your airborne journey with cold Champagne, a ballooning tradition. Then dine at Vincent on Camelback, an award-winning French-fusion restaurant. (See itineraries for sample meals.)
You’ll be given a commemorative flight certificate and, if you choose hotel transportation, you’ll be dropped up in Phoenix to finish your trip.
Phoenix Sonoran Desert Preserve (Passing Through):
Unless the roundtrip hotel transfers option is selected, all hot air balloon trips check in at the Deer Valley Airport Balloon Ride Parking Area. Guests will glide over the breathtaking Sonoran Desert, taking in local landmarks, wildlife, and plant life from a new perspective.
Camelback Mountain (Bypass):
In the middle of the Phoenix Valley, enjoy breathtaking views of the legendary Camelback Mountain. Your pilot will tell you about the city’s history and show out local fauna and plant life.
Downtown Phoenix:
As you soar over the valley, you will be able to see Downtown Phoenix in the distance. As you approach the landing zone, you’ll see a table set with linens and china in the middle of the desert, hinting at what you’re about to experience! A classic celebration awaits you, complete with delectably prepared gourmet cuisine from the award-winning Vincent’s on Camelback restaurant. First-time flyers will be treated to the iconic Balloonists Ceremony, which has been shared by balloonists all around the world for over a century.
