Tour itinerary

Discover the magnificent grandeur of the Columbia River Gorge on a small group trip in a luxury passenger van led by an expert guide. Visit the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, stopping at various spectacular waterfalls indicative of the Pacific Northwest’s magnificence.

Drive from downtown Portland to Troutdale, known as the Gateway to the Gorge. Enjoy the drive down the Historic Columbia River Highway, the country’s first designed scenic route. Arrive at Crown Point Vista House, a vantage point perched high above the Columbia River.

Continue down the old roadway into the Columbia River National Scenic Area from there. Arrive at the day’s first waterfall, the stunning Latourell Falls, which drops 249 feet over a tremendous wall of columnar basalt.

You’ll also get the opportunity to explore an often-overlooked jewel, Horsetail Falls, which is located immediately off the old route. Once reaching the base of these falls, it will be clear why it was given that name.

Continue on to Multnomah Falls, which drops 620 feet in two huge steps to the earth. Explore the Multnomah Falls Historic Lodge and stand on the conveniently accessible observation platform for a 360-degree view of the Benson Bridge and tumbling waterfalls beyond.

After that, take your time returning to Portland through the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge route.

Testimonials

Gracepat Safaris, a local firm, organizes the activity properly. We were escorted by two drivers/guides (John and Timothy), to whom I can only express my gratitude. They are extremely timely, professional, and committed to their work, and they have excellent knowledge of the animals and flora of the national parks. very recommended

This tour is a must-see. MULTNOMAH FALLS is breathtaking. The entire excursion was great. Our tour guide was outstanding and extremely knowledgable about the history of the region. We attended the half-day trip and I was able to keep up despite my age (67). Highly recommended!
