Tour itinerary

You will take your seat on the tatami, the traditional Japanese floor mat, and be greeted by your English-speaking host, a licensed tea master from Urasenke, Japan’s largest tea ceremony school. Watch as the host performs the ceremonial preparation of matcha, which is powdered green tea. Then you’ll get to create your own tea as the host tells you about the tea ceremony’s history and spiritual significance, as well as the effects each tea-making method has on its flavor. After that, indulge in some traditional Japanese sweets.

After the ceremony, you will be able to snap photographs and see examples of kimonos and stunning woven fabrics manufactured in Kyoto’s Nishijin neighborhood. If you want to wear a kimono throughout the event, you may add it as an add-on when booking and snap photographs to remember it.

Testimonials

It was a pleasant session in which I learned a great deal. My only complaint was that it appeared to be overbooked; it was a really tight fit in the already small tea room. In addition, I would have loved additional time after the wedding to snap photographs of myself in the kimono. this experience traditional Japanese tea ceremony was amazing.

In perfect English, the host led us through the formalities of a ceremony. She was more than willing to answer any queries we had. We got to create our own cup of tea after having some sweets and a cup of tea, which truly helps you appreciate the talents that go into a tea ceremony. This was a peaceful, instructive, and overall fascinating experience. this experience traditional Japanese tea ceremony was amazing.
