Tour itinerary
Day 1: Mexico City
The first day will be spent getting to know Mexico City: walking about its historic core, learning about its pre-Hispanic and colonial past, discovering its rich customs and culture, and sampling the finest of local delicacies. We will depart from your hotel and go to Mexico City’s historic core. There, we shall view the massive Metropolitan Cathedral, the Diego Rivera frescoes in the National Palace, and the stunning eclectic architecture of the Main Post Office and the Palace of Fine Arts. Aside from that, you will visit observation platforms, wander through colorful streets, learn about the city, and much more! Visit with a guide.

Day 2:Xochimilco, Coyoacan & Frida Kahlo Museum
On the second day, you will learn about Mexico City’s most famous districts, Xochimilco and Coyoacan, as well as the world-famous Frida Kahlo Museum. After being picked up from your hotel, go with your guide to the Xochimilco area, which was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. There, take a 1-hour private “trajinera” (a typical flat-bottom boat decked with colorful ornaments and steered by the boatman with a pole) trip around its scenic canals, listen to mariachi music, and sample some traditional Mexican delicacies. Then we’ll drive to Coyoacán’s historic district to see the Frida Kahlo Museum (the Casa Azul), where the painter lived almost her entire life and created some of her most famous works. After a guided tour of the museum, we will travel to explore colonial-era Coyoacán, visiting its historic churches and squares and closing at one of the neighborhood’s oldest coffee shops, where you will be able to enjoy authentic churros and wonderful Veracruz coffee.
